One double let down with hot water. 45 g of espresso, 120 g of water, and nothing else to it.

| Espresso to water | 1:2.7 | by weight |
Pull a double to 45 g. The dose, the grind and the tamp are all C10.
Add 120 g of hot water.
165 g total is a short americano. It is a strong one by design rather than a long drink that has been diluted to fill a mug.
The water is weighed rather than poured to a line, for the same reason the shot is. A mug filled by eye is a different strength every time.
